Go ye into all the world...

The Great Commission from Jesus commands us to go in to all the world and teach all nations. The Dunkard Brethren Church has been planting churches in Kenya for many years. Our desire is to see the Kenyan people come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and for them to grow in the grace and knowledge of Him. Our goal is to continue to equip local ministers of the Gospel to preach the Word Of God in Spirit and Truth.

There is much work to be done in Kenya. Learn more about the different types of work being done in Kenya through our missions.

Our Vision

The vision of the Dunkard Brethren Churches is to equip indigenous leaders to take the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the interior of Kenya where people have not heard the message. We want to establish outreach projects to meet the needs of the truly needy, and encourage believers to be faithful to the call of God in their lives.

The History Of Our Missions...

In 1995 the Dunkard Brethren Church accepted an invitation to visit Africa with the purpose of encouraging the believers and planting churches. A piece of property was rented and later purchased in Makutano, Kenya to house American missionaries. The first longer term missionaries came to stay in January, 1998.

We started working with seven indigenous congregations, but because of leadership difficulties we reduced to four congregations by the year 2003. Those churches were: Ortum, Chepkorniswo, Makutano and Chesubet. Through the work of evangelism, congregations and mission points have been added: Kamoi, Kipsaina, Kapkisei, Soy, Kachibora, Kaptama, Kaptalamwa and Mosol.

Brethren have been called to serve in the ministry. Our current ministers are Hosea Ambundo, Absalom Wafula, Christopher Kapsilot, Henry Otolo, Aggrey Musumba, Amos Kones and Nelson Kimtai. Our deacons are Thomas Etabo and Wilson Kimanuche.

We are working on registering the Kenyan Church, which will allow us to obtain work permits more easily for long term missionaries.  We are also focusing on developing outreach projects that will provide opportunities to take the Gospel to the interior where we currently have no  churches.

Pray for the Kenya Mission Board – Hosea Ambundo, Aggrey Musumba, Nelson Kimtai, Absalom Wafula, and Francis Kedi – as they work with the churches in Kenya.

Clean water...

The ministry of clean drinking water has been an ongoing blessing to the Makutano community. We continue to help with unexpected health and physical needs. The pastors have been faithful in meeting the spiritual needs of the church.

Please pray for the physical and spiritual needs of our brothers and sisters in Kenya. Prayerfully consider how God can use you to be an answer to their needs!
